"World's Finest" was a team up book that focused on Superman and
Batman, together with a role call of guest stars from the DC Universe. Issue
204 featured the now de-powered Wonder Woman teaming up with Superman, in their
only appearance together during her Diana Prince "mod" era.
With issue 244 of "World's Finest", DC Comics embarked on a new strategy
and decided to increase the size of the book to 80 pages (as well as the price)
as well as introduce additional characters and storylines. For the next few
issues, Wonder Woman made regular guest appearances starring in brand new World
War II storylines. This was an intentional move on the part of DC, who wanted
to tie in with the new TV series that had just started airing at the time called
"The New Original Wonder Woman" (starring the lovely
Lynda Carter), which was also set during the same period.
